Why have your child or teen assessed at Saltwater Psychology?
Feedback
I offer a quick turnaround of results within four weeks of the last testing session; I know families are eager for information and looking for next steps to support their child.
One page results
Reports can be lengthy due to comprehensiveness. In addition to the report, if desired, I offer a one page summary of results to share with your child’s team.
Focus on education and learning
My knowledge of working in and with schools helps me provide recommendations not only for the child’s family and home, but for classroom and educational settings as well.
Assessment Process
Although the method can look differently depending on who is seeking an assessment, typically it begins with an intake session.
Based on the referral question, I put together a comprehensive evaluation plan. I use a variety of methods during the assessment process including individual one-on-one testing sessions with the youth, interviews of important individuals in the youth’s life (such as teachers, therapists, coaches, and so forth), reviewing of previous records, and if needed, school observations.
At the end of our work together, we will meet to discuss the information gathered, diagnoses (if appropriate), and recommendations/next steps. All of this information will also be provided in a written report.
